A Recycle Paperboard Producer

Long Range Recovered Paper Planning. Moore & Associates assisted this client in analyzing both its existing usage of a range of recovered paper grades, and the dynamics of fiber sources for a new paper machine. (1997)

A Mill Company

Inventory Analysis. Moore & Associates performed a project to examine the impact of inventory levels on the procured price of a major recovered paper grade. (1997)

A State Government

Technical Support on Recycle Content Newsprint Issues. Moore & Associates acted as a technical expert to advise a state committee examining future options for its recycle content newsprint law. The project also involved constructing long-range forecasts for old newspaper prices, based on different legislative newsprint recycle content scenarios. (1997 and 1998)

Tissue Producer

$martBuySM – Analysis of Recovered Paper Procurement Practices.  Moore & Associates provided this client with an in-depth analysis of its recovered paper purchasing practices and strategies. The project included coverage of supply sources, supply agreements and infrastructure practices for office deinking grades benchmarked against industry practices and optimum targets. (1997)

Multiple Clients

5-Year OCC Price Forecast. Moore & Associates, using its extensive recovered paper supply, demand, and price database, developed a 5-year forecast for U.S. OCC prices (1998-2002). Input variables for the project include recovered paper supply/demand, disposal/collection costs, and economic outlook/industry operating rates. Other more subtle and complex future trends are used to refine the model output. (1997)

A Financial Assistance Agency

Business Plan Reviews. Moore & Associates conducted a series of business plan critiques for companies seeking capital infusion. The project involved a review of all aspects of the companies' operating and strategic plans. The companies were a variety of environmental and recycling firms. (1997)

An OCC Supplier

A Regional OCC Price Analysis. Moore & Associates conducted a confidential OCC price data sharing project in a single U.S. recovered paper supply basin. FOB pricing, transportation costs, inventory levels, and historical pricing were included as part of the project analysis. (1997)

A State Government Market Development Board

An Analysis of Old Magazine and Residential Mixed Paper Markets. A state government, through its recycling market development committee, engaged Moore & Associates to analyze old magazine and residential mixed paper markets before encouraging communities to collect these commodities. Moore & Associates examined both domestic and export market opportunities for the materials. Included in the project was an investigation of the recovered paper grades specification/quality needs and a historical price analysis for the grades. A Recycle Containerboard Mill

Product Strategy Assessment Assistance and Market Research. Moore & Associates provided market research and a strategy analysis for a company's introduction of a chemical additive recycling system. The project involved analyzing various options for the management of sludge produced by North American paper mills. (1997)

Multiple Clients

Procurement Organization Analysis. Compared and analyzed a group of recovered paper procurement organization structures. The participating mills were integrated recycle manufacturers with paper stock and brokerage organizations. (1997)

A Industry Trade Publication

Assistance With Recovered Paper Price Reporting. Moore & Associates analyzed and assisted this client in its approach to reporting recovered paper prices. As part of the project, short range future price indicators were examined for the ability to provide the publication's readership with this information. (1997)

An Engineering, Procurement and Construction Firm

A Recovered Paper Supply Quality Analysis. Moore & Associates provided technical assistance to this EPC company on the recovered paper supply associated with a new recycle mill start-up project. The most important part of the project was issues associated with the quality of the recovered paper supply and its impact on the mill's finished product. (1997)

A Greenfield Recycle Newsprint Mill Project

ONP and OMG Recovered Paper Supply Plan Assistance. In this project, Moore & Associates developed information and reviewed client documents for the recovered paper supply plan for financing this new mill project. (1997)

A Regional Product Producer

Material Market Assistance. This project analyzed alternative recycling markets for this company's products. A second component of the project involved supplying technical assistance to the company on processability of their product at different types of recycle paper mills. (1997)

A US Federal Agency

Assistance With Executing a Recycling Program. This project involved an analysis of a Federal agency's paper recycling program, identifying potential vendors for the agency, and assessing a variety of approaches to make the system more economically viable. (1997)

Multiple Clients

An Assessment of ONP Market Trends. In this three part project, Moore & Associates examined regional ONP prices history, forecasted future #8 ONP price, and analyzed state recycled newsprint content standards. (1997)

A Containerboard Mill

Investigation of Paper Recycling Activities in a Central U.S. Marketplace. In this market research effort, Moore & Associates examined solid waste and recycling collection and processing activities in a major metropolitan marketplace. The analysis was performed to assist the client in entering the recycling business in the marketplace. (1997)
